The county calls it "fully fenced", and it was rebuilt from the ground up, reopening in April 2025: accessible swings and ramps, shaded areas, and rubber underfoot instead of mulch. It's built for every age and every ability, so a toddler and a big sister can play in the same place. The park around it is wooded, restrooms are on the county's list of its amenities, and the county's layout plan shows a lot of 267 spaces.
Wishing Well Park
Winterfield and Salisbury Roads, Midlothian · about 5 minutes · free
A community park next to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, which offers it "as a gift to our community." A new fence and gate went in during 2025, around a pirate ship and wooden playhouses with a slide built for ages 2 to 5, plus a shade structure over covered picnic tables. The catch: it's pack in, pack out, so there are no trash cans, and the park doesn't list restrooms or parking. A second phase of building started in 2026, so part of it may be fenced off for work.
Cogbill Park
6700 Cogbill Road, Chesterfield · about 24 minutes · free
An inclusive playground that opened in November 2025, where county Parks says crews installed fencing (it doesn't say how far the fence runs). There are restrooms and water fountains, a picnic shelter on a first come basis, a trail looping the park, and basketball and pickleball courts for anyone old enough to be bored by the slide.
PARK365, in Richmond

Just over the line in Richmond, run by the nonprofit SOAR365 as free, inclusive play for kids and adults with and without disabilities. Richmond Family Magazine describes it as fenced and gated, with rubber surfaces. It keeps its own hours: 7am to 8pm Tuesday to Sunday from April through October (11am on Mondays), closing at 5pm from November through March. Children under 10 need an adult with them, and the park's own rules warn the equipment can get hot.
